Miller School Philanthropist and Friend George Bergmann Passes Away

George Bergmann, a successful South Florida businessman and philanthropist who left an indelible mark on the Miller School of Medicine, died at University of Miami Hospital on October 24 after a prolonged illness. He was 79.

Miami Marlins Run to Honor Workers and Benefit UM’s Multiple Sclerosis Center

On April 27, Miami Marlins President David Samson will embark on a 50-mile “Run to Honor the Workers” from Pompano Beach to Miami to commemorate the 5,000 construction workers who labored for three years to build the new Marlins Park and raise funds for 10 organizations, including the UM Multiple Sclerosis Center of Excellence.
