Orthopaedic Trauma
The Trauma Service is responsible for the treatment of all adult musculoskeletal injuries. In addition to general orthopaedic trauma, the service specializes in the treatment of complex pelvic and acetabular fractures, and post-traumatic sequelae, such as nonunion, malunion, and deformity.
Fractures and other Major Skeletal Injuries: Fractures of the major bones and multiple fractures as the result of auto accidents and falls can be treated successfully in trauma centers that specialize in these injuries. There are a number of minimally invasive techniques have been developed for treating these devastating injuries.
Pelvic Fractures: A major pelvic fracture is usually caused by impact with a substantial force, such as a motor vehicle accident or a fall from a significant height. New non-invasive techniques have been developed for treating this devastating injury.
